Floral Blouse + Skinny Jeans

Happy Monday loves! I hope you had amazing weekends! I sure did! Hubby and I got to see DeRay Davis perform live at Comedy Off Broadway in Lexington, KY, and we literally laughed until our faces hurt. It was so wonderful to relax, laugh, have a few drinks, and unwind with him after a long week. I love how thoughtful and creative my Hubby is in planning dates for us. After 11 years together, we still take the time to date and it’s something that I cherish. We spontaneously decided that we didn’t want to end the night there and finally went to see the movie Get Out. Have y’all seen that movie yet? WOW is all I can say because I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but you MUST go see it! Anyway, on to this look where I styled a floral blouse and skinny jeans…

I know what some of you are thinking, especially after reading this post, “her hair is different again!” Hahahha! No worries, I haven’t fallen to the protective styling temptation just yet, this look and the one to come on Wednesday were shot a month ago when I was still rocking my havana twists. Remember, I have nothing against protective styling, my issue was either wearing them too long or back to back without giving my hair a real break. You may see me in a protective style in May and it will only be for a short while when Hubby and I are on vacation for our wedding anniversary.

For this look, I knew the floral blouse would be my eye catching statement piece so I paired it with some skinny jeans, neutral wedged ankle booties, and for fun, I wore a red lip with yellow tassel earrings that complemented the yellow flowers on my blouse. For days like today, where it starts off brisk in the morning and gets warmer as the day progresses, this look is my spring uniform.
