I’m sure by now you’ve heard of Melissa Harris-Perry, an American writer, professor, television host, and political commentator with a focus on African-American politics.
She is a talented, educated, entertaining black woman with her own show, and got put on the back burner by the network she worked for. Instead of taking it lying down or keeping her mouth shut, she stood up for herself, she spoke out against the media giant, and she was willing to give up her contract for something she believed strongly in. Today, join me in celebrating her confidence, beauty, and brilliance and I can’t wait for her next big opportunity to share her voice with us all!
