Hi loves! Guess what? It’s my BIRTHDAY and I’m so excited to be back sharing a part of my special day with all of you here!!! I’ve tried to be intentional about stopping to smell the roses on my birthday and to be present in entering a new year of life. Every year as my birthday approaches, I get very reflective and introspective. I begin thinking of blessings, wins, and losses. Do any of you all do that too? I no longer have a list of achievements that I think I should have accomplished by a certain year or stage of life, because I am not the author of my life. God is. But as a planner and a woman with purpose and ambition, I do tend to set goals in both my personal, spiritual, and professional life.
I met some of my goals but not others, and that’s okay. I am comfortable with being imperfectly perfect. It feels like this whole year was one big transition and God has been growing me as a woman, wife, friend, professional, and blogger.
As I wrote in my gratitude journal this week about my last year, I realized that even through some struggles, God has blessed me with some real wins. I fall deeper in love with my husband every day. My husband, family, friends, and I are all healthy. We got our new house, we got to travel and celebrate our marriage with a vacation to a potential city we’d like to live in. We even got to travel home to visit our families more than we ever have. Friendships were fostered that breathed new life both into our marriage and individually. I have a close circle of women that I can trust with my heart and any issues in my life. That’s no small thing to me, because I specifically prayed for that. I could go on and on, but the truth is: I am BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED.
This world would have us, especially women, believe that we aren’t good enough. It tries to force us into the comparison game. But the truth is, we are good enough. YOU are good enough. Right where you are in life. Every once in a while, it’s okay to unplug, like I have had to this year, and stop and smell the roses. (Why not do it while wearing a rosey dress lol). Take the time to breathe, be present, and be thankful for all that God has blessed you with, and has kept you from. I’m so excited for all that He has in store for me this year. I’m claiming mind blowing blessings in my marriage, with my family and friends, my career, and here on this blog.
Thank you for sticking with me these past 6 years as we’ve both grown together. Stay tuned, the best is yet to come! Now on to celebrating my birthday!
