Thank you, Target Beauty for sponsoring this post. All opinions shared are my own.
As the 4th of July swiftly approaches, I begin to think about how I can incorporate pops of red, white, and blue into not only my style but also my beauty routine! I can’t think of a better time to go bold and play around with color. With that said, I fully understand it can be a little overwhelming to step outside of the norm and try something new. So I want to share with you how I build up to my bold and vibrant 4th of July look below today!
In this first look, I have on minimal makeup, foundation, and powder, and it is similar to how I’d apply my makeup for work or to look presentable if I have to run some errands. It is safe and beginner-friendly but let’s be honest: This look doesn’t really scream 4th of July, does it?
In this second look, I stepped it up a notch by adding NYX The Skinny Mascara to my lashes, and I’m so happy I did. It lengthened every one of my lashes and made them POP! I also added NYX Blush to my cheeks for a feminine blush. This look is warm and subtle and comfortable for the intermediate who is gaining their confidence in applying makeup.
For my third and more advanced look in the first photo, I really went BOLD from top to bottom. I lined my eyes with PIXI Endless Silky Pen in Black Blue and smudged it out at the corners. I added Sonia Kashuk’s Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo to the top of my cheekbones for the perfect highlight and glow. I also applied NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Morocco, and it has been my go-to vibrant orange-based red and so fitting for 4th of July. With vibrant colors like this one, I always line my lips with a brown pencil, so for this look I used the NYX Slim Lip Liner (in store only) in dark brown. Finally, to top the entire look with a touch of sparkle, I applied the gold color from the NYX Love in Paris Shadow Palette to my eyelids.
As a girl who absolutely loves to wear bold makeup looks, styling this was so much fun! Don’t be afraid to get creative and make your 4th of July your own. Also, you have to try out White On by Sally Hansen, it complements all skin tones.
